Vincent Mucci Wins the 2025 Duke of Kent

Montréal, July 9, 2025 – Despite unfavourable weather conditions that forced the cancellation of the first round, the 91st edition of the Duke of Kent, presented in collaboration with belairdirect, was played on Tuesday in a shortened and quite intense format at the Royal Québec Golf Club.

Vincent Mucci (Le Versant) took the win, recording an impressive round of -7 (65) to claim the top honours and don the prestigious plaid jacket traditionally awarded to the winner of the Duke of Kent.

Mucci achieved his goal by finishing ahead of William Forgues (Royal Québec), who came in second with a score of -4 (68). Forgues performance earned him the André Gagné Trophy, awarded to the best player from the Québec City region.

A trio of golfers rounded out the podium with Émile Lebrun (Golf Laval-sur-le-Lac), Matthew Dufour (Chicoutimi), and Luc Guilbault (public golfer) who tied for third place at -3 (69).

Also noteworthy was the performance of Thomas Grenier (Thetford), a member of the Québec team, who tied for sixth at -2 (70) with seven other golfers.

Once again, this year, the Duke of Kent will allow participants to earn valuable points toward the Triple Crown Order of Merit, which includes the Alexander of Tunis, the Duke of Kent, and the Men's Provincial Amateur Championship. This Order of Merit will be used to select the provincial team of three golfers who will represent Golf Québec in the inter-provincial competition at the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship, which will be held July 28-31, 2025, at the Royal Ottawa and Rivermead clubs in the Ottawa region.

The Men's Triple Crown will conclude with the Men's Provincial Amateur Championship, scheduled for July 15-18 at the Elm Ridge Country Club.
Until then, Golf Québec is focusing on preparing and presenting its next two events. The Girls' and Boys' Provincial Junior Championships will be held July 10 to 13 at Les Boisés de Joly Golf Club, followed by the Women's Provincial Amateur and Senior Championship that will take place from July 14 to 16, at Golf Le Champêtre.
