Montréal, June 25, 2025 – Daniel-Ange Morency (Montcalm) put in an impressive performance at the Camelot Golf Club, winning the 76th edition of the Alexander de Tunis, presented in collaboration with belairdirect, with a cumulative score of -8 (136).

This first leg of the Golf Québec Men's Triple Crown brought together 138 players for two days of competition on June 23 and 24. Morency stood out from the pack right from the first round, shooting a 66 to take the lead. He then managed to hold on to his lead on the second day, finishing the round with a 70 for a total of 136 strokes.

The 2024 Duke of Kent champion, Anthony Jomphe (Chicoutimi), took second place at -5 (139), while Taylor Collins (Sand Point) rounded out the top three with a cumulative score of 141, three strokes under par.

It should be noted that two athletes from the Québec team finished in the top 10 in this event: Henry Dao (Vallée du Richelieu), tied for fourth at -2 (142), and Thomas Grenier (Thetford), tied for sixth at -1 (143).

Beyond the overall title, players were also aiming for valuable points toward the Triple Crown Order of Merit, which includes the Alexander of Tunis, the Duke of Kent, and the Provincial Men's Amateur Championship. This Order of Merit will be used to select the provincial team of three golfers who will represent Golf Québec in the inter-provincial competition as part of the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship, which will take place from July 28 to 31, 2025, at the Royal Ottawa and Rivermead clubs in the Ottawa Valley region.

The Men's Triple Crown will continue with the presentation of the Duke of Kent in July.

In the meantime, Golf Québec staff are turning their attention to the Debbie Savoy Morel Cup, scheduled for June 28 and 29 at Le Mirage Golf Club.
