Birdies for Charity Is Back
Birdies for Charity is a fundraiser based on the number of birdies made by the golf professionals at the 2015 RBC Canadian Open. Donors will commit to making a donation for each birdie made by the golf professionals at the tournament during the four rounds (Thursday through Sunday) of the tournament. As a result, they will contribute to supporting youth programs and initiatives through the Golf Québec Sport Development Program. Read more...

The Rules of Golf According to Édouard - Caddies
Most players ask their caddy for advice on their line of play. However, caddies should never touch that line otherwise players could get a 2-stroke penalty. It is crucial to understand that players are fully responsible for any mistake their caddy could make. Read more in Édouard's blog on the Rules of Golf,  part 1 and part 2, on Golf Martial Lapointe (in French)...

To contact our Rules of Golf Chairman, please send an e-mail to erivard@golfquebec.org.

Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) Guide–version 2.0
Golf Québec's development programs are in line with the Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) Guide. Based on the terms used by the Ministry, player development is divided in four pillars: introduction, recreation, competition, and excellence. While knowing the path to reach any destination is critical, so too is understanding what the important factors needed to be achieved at each stage of development in order to get to your destination. In golf, as with every sport, the path of an athlete along the stages in their development leaves a measure of progression that can be studied. Read more...

Club de golf Victoriaville was proud to announce the beginning of its 2015 season, this Wednesday, April 15. We were also informed that Simon Camirand was appointed to the academic flight of the SUBWAY Junior Program. A PGA of Canada Golf Professional, he discovered golf on the numerous courses of the region. During his junior years, he played in the Eastern Townships and Provincial tours. After two years in the Sports-études golf program of Collège Laflèche, Simon fully developped his skills in university. Since 2006, he has played on various tours in Europe and North America.

Dollard St-Laurent Also Left a Significant Legacy to Golf
The passing of Dollard St-Laurent was marked - for good reasons - by the Montréal Canadiens and NHL. The golf industry should also render homage to this great man who left a significant legacy to junior golf. After his hockey career, golf became the favorite sport of Mr. St-Laurent. He was a highly respected Captain and President of the Beloeil Golf Club. In addition, with the likes of Jack Bisseger, Luc Brien, Jean-Guy Périard, André Gagnier, André Maltais, Phil Giroux and many others, he created a development program for promising young golfers throughout the province. Moreover, his son Michel was President of Golf Québec in 2001 and, later on, acted as a Golf Canada Governor. Read more on MonGolf.ca (in French)...
