Role and Duties of the Board of Directors

Our directors are all volunteers, and we ask them to actively participate in each of the eight (8) meetings scheduled throughout the year. Meetings are held in French, and are mostly scheduled for late weekday afternoons. About one third of the meetings are held in person, at the Maison du Loisir et du Sport or at a golf club, and the rest are organized by webconference.

With their collective expertise and skills, our Board members play a governance role to ensure Golf Québec's long-term viability and the fulfillment of its strategic orientations. In particular, they adopt budget forecasts and financial statements, ensure the efficiency and integrity of our processes, and oversee the activities of the Executive Director and Board committees.

RECRUITING PERIOD

From October 1 to November 1, 2026, individuals interested in joining Golf Québec’s Board of Directors are invited to complete and submit the Application Form for the Nomination Process.

In addition to this form, please send us your résumé and a digital photo at gsirois@golfquebec.org. These items are mandatory and must be submitted to Golf Québec before the end of the recruitment period. Incomplete applications will be considered ineligible.

ELIGIBILITY CONFIRMATION

In early November, all applications received will be reviewed to confirm eligibility.

Individuals who are eligible to serve on Golf Québec’s Board of Directors will be contacted by e-mail and asked to complete a Competency Chart. The Nominating Committee will then be able to finalize its review and identify the individuals who will be invited for an interview.

Individuals selected to participate in this final stage of the process, which will take place from mid-November to mid-December, will be required to provide the results of a criminal background check.

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS

The Nominating Committee will prepare its report and submit its recommendations to the Corporate Secretary by mid-January 2027.

These recommendations will then be approved by Golf Québec members at the Annual General Meeting on February 17, 2027, at which time a new Board of Directors will take office.
