Montréal, August 24, 2026 – Last year’s winner of the Graham Cooke Junior Invitational, Zixuan Tan (Country Club of Montréal) successfully defended her title in the junior girls’ division, once again claiming top honours at the 2026 edition of the tournament held at Golf les Boisés de Joly.

Last weekend, the Montréal golfer was tied for the lead with two others after the opening round of the event, alongside Louanne Aubin (Baie-Comeau) and Sofia De Zordo (Balmoral/Québec team), all three at 75 (+3).

Tan got off to a strong start on the second day of competition with a birdie on the third hole, but ran into some difficulties afterward, including having to settle for a double bogey on the following hole. However, it was not enough to discourage her, and she bounced back brilliantly with three more birdies midway through the final round.

She finished the day at 73 (+1), bringing her total to 148 (+4). Aubin (151, +7) and De Zordo (153, +9) rounded out the top 3.

In the junior boys’ division, Jimmy Galbraith (Maître de Mont-Tremblant) captured top honours with two identical rounds of 71 (-1), for a total of 142 (-2). Galbraith held off a strong charge from Charly Pinel (Bellechasse/Québec team), who climbed nine spots in the final standings thanks to a second-round 69 (-3). He finished second at 143 (-1), tied with Noah Fecteau (St-Georges).

In the bantam divisions, Victoria Massé (Le Blainvillier) prevailed among the girls with an impressive 12-stroke lead over her closest pursuer. Among the boys, Arthur Brault (Venise), who was second after the first day, showed consistency on Sunday to climb to the top of the leaderboard and win the tournament in a playoff against Zander Zhang (Rivermead).

Lorie Rosa (Lanaudière), Gracelyn Xiao (Rivermead), Kate Guo (Pinegrove), and Elizabeth Dufresne (Vallée du Richelieu) were the other members of the Québec team who took part in the Graham Cooke Junior Invitational.

The Inter-Regional Championship will be held on September 5, at Club de Golf Du Moulin in Trois-Rivières.
