Montréal, August 13, 2026 – Patrick Godin (Summerlea) made the most of his home-course advantage to capture top honours at the Men’s Provincial Senior Championship, presented in collaboration with belairdirect, which brought together 120 golfers from August 10 to 12 at the Summerlea Golf & Country Club in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

Rain moved in during the third and final round on Wednesday, forcing organizers to bring the competition to an early close. The championship therefore ended after 45 holes instead of the originally scheduled 54.

After those two and a half rounds, Patrick Godin was crowned champion of this 90th edition with a cumulative score of 180 strokes, even par.

The local golfer had begun his climb up the leaderboard the previous day with an impressive round of 69 (-3), the best score of the tournament. He kept the momentum going on Wednesday, carding a final nine of 34 strokes (-2) to complete his comeback and claim the provincial title in front of his home crowd.

Gino Coulombe (Le Champêtre) finished second at +2 (182), while Dwight Reinhart (Ottawa Hunt) and Luc Guilbault (public golfer) finished the event tied for third at +4 (184).

Guilbault’s performance also earned him top honours in the super senior category.

On the Road to the Canadian Championship

In addition to his provincial title, Patrick Godin earned his spot on the team that will represent Golf Québec in the inter-provincial competition at the Canadian Men’s Senior Championship, scheduled for September 8 to 11, at the Pine Hills Golf Club in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

He will be joined by Gino Coulombe and Dwight Reinhart, who secured the other two spots on the Québec squad.

Golf Québec would like to thank Summerlea Golf Club, its team and the volunteers for their warm welcome and invaluable collaboration in organizing and presenting this 90th edition of the Men’s Provincial Senior Championship.

Provincial activities will continue with the Junior Match Play Championship, which will take place from August 17 to 19, at the Knowlton Golf Club. The Graham Cooke Junior Invitational will follow on August 22 and 23, at Club de golf Les Boisés de Joly.
