Montréal, August 25, 2025 – Golf Château-Bromont hosted the 21st edition of the Graham Cooke Junior Invitational, which brought together more than 150 young golfers on August 23 and 24 in four separate categories: junior girls, junior boys, bantam girls, and bantam boys.
First, in the junior boys' category, Émile Lebrun (Laval-sur-le-Lac) was crowned champion with a cumulative score of -3 (141). He led the competition from start to finish to win his second tournament of the season, following the Provincial Amateur Championship just a few weeks ago.
“My biggest challenge at this year's Graham Cooke Junior Invitational was to finish my second round well on the back nine. I didn't necessarily finish the way I wanted to, but I managed to win, so I'm very happy,” said the 18-year-old golfer after his final round.
In the end, Lebrun finished ahead of Charly Pinel (Bellechasse/Québec team) and Alexis Rouleau (Lanaudière/Québec team), who tied for second place with a score of -1 (143).
In the junior girls' division, the suspense continued into overtime. Zixuan Tan (Public Golfer Program) finally prevailed over Kate Guo (Pinegrove). The two golfers had finished the two rounds tied at +16 (160). Louanne Aubin (Ste-Marguerite) completed the podium with a score of +17 (161).
“It means a lot to me! I'm really happy to have won in overtime after two holes. It was tough with the wind. I was a little stressed, but I had to stay calm and take it one step at a time. I'm very happy with the result!” commented the winner.
In the girls' bantam category, Raphaelle Provost (Vallée du Richelieu) won with a cumulative score of +24 (168). She finished ahead of Emily Wang (Kanawaki), at +27 (171), and Mylee Murillo Beaudoin (Le Blainvillier), at +30 (174), who took second and third place respectively.
Finally, in the boys' bantam category, Jeremie Hébert (Rosemère Fontainebleau) took top honors at +7 (151), ahead of Adam Lauzon (Vallée du Richelieu) at +9 (153) and Arthur Brault (Venise) at +11 (155).
Golf Québec staff are now turning their attention to preparing and presenting the Interregional Championship, which will take place at Parcours du Cerf in Longueuil on September 6.
