Antoine Jasmin and Charlotte Boudreau Stand Out

Junior and Juvenile Winners

Saint-Liguori, July 12, 2024 – Club de golf Montcalm was the setting for the Boys' and Girls' Provincial Junior Championship from July 8 to 11.

The competition, which started with 129 boys and 39 girls, led to presenting 5 trophies, including Antoine Jasmin’s (Le Blainvillier/Québec team) who was crowned in the junior division. With four rounds of 67, 68, 68 and 73 (-12), he was closely followed by Thomas Grenier (Thetford) at minus -11.

On the women's side, Québec team member Charlotte Boudreau (Île de Montréal) finished first in both the junior and juvenile categories, carding a total of 304 (+16). A juvenile competitor because of her age, she was able to collect the two trophies at stake in this event.

In the juvenile boys' category, Charles-Edmond Proulx (Vallée du Richelieu/Québec team) came out on top with a gross total of -4.

With a total score of 310, Justine Emond (Le Blainvillier/Québec team) took the title of best golfer among the 17–18-year-old junior girls. Emond particularly stood out in the second round, where she shot a 75. Her score of +22 tied her with Sofia De Zordo (Balmoral/Québec team), who was in action in the juvenile category.

The Canadian Junior Men's Championship, presented by BDO, will be held at Innisfail Golf Club in Alberta from August 12 to 16, while the Canadian Junior Women's Championship will be held at Marine Drive Golf Club in British Columbia from July 22 to 24.

On these occasions, Justine Emond, Sofia De Zordo, and Mackenzie Cloutier (Le Blainvillier/Québec team) will bear the Golf Québec colours, while Antoine Jasmin, Thomas Grenier, and Cameron Robitaille (St-Hyacinthe/Québec team) will form the men's team for the inter-provincial competitions, combining scores from the first two days of the national events. A total of twelve local male athletes will also take part in the four-day Canadian individual event.
