Jean-Guy Gourdeau holds a bachelor's degree from McGill University, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), and is now retired. He has held senior management positions, including President of Solstice Financial Group Inc. He has over 40 years' leadership experience in governance, finance, and strategic management.
He has some thirty years' experience as a volunteer, notably with the Montréal General Hospital, where he was CEO of the Foundation for 9 years, the Montréal Holocaust Museum, the YMCA of Québec, the Foundation of Greater Montréal, the CHU Ste-Justine Foundation, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
His passion for golf dates back to his youth, when he won the Provincial Juvenile Boys' Championship at the age of 15 and the Islesmere Club Championship twice. An accomplished golfer, he now plays regularly at the Royal Montreal Golf Club and Balmoral Golf Club, as well as at the Quail Ridge Golf Club in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he spends several months each year.
