President's Foreword

It's good to see that golf continues to do well in Québec and Canada. Once again, the year 2024 has seen a sustained enthusiasm for our sport, confirming the renewed interest generated in recent years in the aftermath of Covid. This is evidenced by our membership of just under 50,000, a growth of 30% since 2019, and an estimated 600,000 Quebecers playing a minimum of five games a year.

As a Québec sports federation, recognized by the government, whose aim is to promote and govern the practice of golf, we are pursuing our commitment to a secure and inclusive sporting environment: a sport that is safe and increasingly accessible. Golf is a unique sport, good for physical and mental health as well as social and family health, and a great learning and personal development tool for our youth. We are committed to continuing to promote it in this way.

I invite you to take a close look at the annual report, which gives an account of the various activities carried out during 2024, another busy year. You'll see all the initiatives that were implemented in every sphere of sporting practice, from discovery, through introduction and recreation, to competition and excellence.

For 2025, among the challenges facing us, and in line with our strategic planning, we intend to focus on reviewing our various programs to develop our young athletes to the highest levels of excellence, as well as updating our service offering to our member clubs and golfers to ensure that it remains relevant and provides the best possible value.

The federation's financial situation is sound. We will aim to maintain a fair balance between the investments required to pursue development and the prudence required in light of the economic situation and the budgetary challenges faced by governments in their vital support for the development of sport and leisure.

Allow me to extend my greetings and thanks to my colleagues on the Board of Directors for their generous contribution of time, for the quality of the discussions and proposals submitted, and for their attention to ensuring a framework of sound governance. I would also like to congratulate and thank all the federation's employees, under the leadership of our Executive Director, Jean-Pierre Beaulieu, for all their hard work, efficiency, and ongoing commitment.

Finally, the contribution of our contingent of some 250 volunteers is invaluable to the realization of the federation's many activities. To all these volunteers, in every region of Québec, the Board of Directors and members of the Golf Québec staff are extremely grateful.

President
