Montréal, October 11, 2024 – Presented under the co-presidency of Debbie Savoy Morel and Luc Boisvert, the 17th Golf Québec Fundraiser Tournament was in full swing at the Ki-8-Eb Golf Club last Tuesday in Trois-Rivières! This year's objective: to raise funds for the development of junior women's golf, which will ultimately benefit from over $80,000!

A total of 108 golfers gathered to pay tribute to Jocelyne Bourassa, a true legend of women's golf in Québec who passed away in 2022. A commemorative plaque was unveiled to members of her family at the beginning of the day, marking the 50th anniversary of her landmark victory at La Canadienne in 1973.

“It's very interesting to be here today to celebrate the memory of my great friend, Jocelyne Bourassa, who influenced everything I've done in golf. It was also wonderful to come here to Ki-8-Eb! I will definitely be back, as I loved my day and had the immense pleasure of seeing my friends from Golf Québec again,” said one of the day's guests of honour, Diane Dunlop-Hébert, former president of Golf Québec (2007-2008) and Golf Canada (2012), and this year's inductee into the Québec Golf Hall of Fame.

As usual, this Fundraiser Tournament was part of Golf Québec's annual fundraising campaign to promote the discovery and initiation to the game of golf.

“For me, who was the president of Golf Québec nearly 40 years ago, it's really special to see that the current generation remembers those who came before them and who, I hope, helped young and not-so-young alike to learn the sport we all love,” revealed Jacques Nols, guest of honour and former president of Golf Québec (1986) and Golf Canada (1995).

“Obviously, it's a pleasure to be invited to an event that supports the next generation of golfers. It's always a pleasure to participate, and I couldn't miss this opportunity,” added Charlie Beaulieu, also guest of honour and former president of the Fédération québécoise de golf (2007-2011) and Golf Canada (2019-2020).

Over the course of the day, guests played 18 holes in the autumn sunshine and took part in a number of activities, including Beat the Junior in the company of two golfers from the Mauricie region, Florence Hamelin and Alexandra Lemay.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this wonderful day! Combined with our interactive auction, we raised over $80,000 for the development of junior women's golf. Thank you to our two co-presidents, for whom this cause is very important. What a warm welcome we received at Ki-8-Eb!” concluded Golf Québec Executive Director Jean-Pierre Beaulieu.
