On Monday and Tuesday, Golf Le Champêtre hosted the Players of 40 Years Old and Over Championship presented in collaboration with belairdirect. Marie-Thérèse Torti (Vallée du Richelieu) took the opportunity to add a new title to her collection, while Dwight Reinhart (Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club) made a comeback to claim victory in the men's event.

Already an amateur winner of the event in 2011 and in the senior category in 2013 and 2014, Torti dominated the women's competition, carding rounds of 72 (par) and 74 (+2) to finish top of the leaderboard with a total of 146 shots (+2). In doing so, Torti, who was inducted into the Québec Golf Hall of Fame in 2021, was once again able to add her name to both the amateur and senior trophies awarded at the event.

Dominique Paradis (Le Mirage) and Jeanette Hébert (Lachute) followed in second and third place overall with scores of +8 (152) and +10 (154) respectively.

On the men's side, Reinhart walked away with top honours thanks to a second round of 66 (-6), the best of the entire competition. In doing so, he lowered his overall score to -8 (136) to overtake the first-round leader James Woodcroft (Le Blainvillier). Woodcroft finished the tournament at -6 (138) to take second place ahead of Dominic Morency (Belœil) in third at -4 (140).

It should be noted that Woodcroft's overall results took him top honours in the men's 55+ subdivision, enabling him to claim the Pierre Archambault trophy.

The Golf Québec team would like to thank Golf Le Champêtre for hosting the tournament and is now looking ahead to the Québec National Golf League Regional Final, to be held at Summerlea Golf and Country Club on October 1.
