Nancy Spineti Delle Donne Named Honorary Governor
Nancy Spineti Delle Donne Named Honorary Governor of Golf Québec
Montréal, February 23, 2021 – The Québec Golf Federation took the opportunity of its Annual General Assembly, this Monday, February 22, to honour Nancy Spineti Delle Donne, a lifelong volunteer. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development of golf in the province and in Canada, she was awarded the title of Golf Québec Honorary Governor.
An outstanding contribution
Active at the regional level since 1996, Nancy Spineti Delle Donne then held numerous provincial and national positions from 2008 to 2020. After many years of generous volunteer contributions, she is now leaving us to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. To thank her for the invaluable amount of work she has accomplished, the Golf Québec Board of Directors will therefore propose her nomination as Honorary Governor at the AGM in February 2021.
She joined the Board of Directors of Golf Québec in 2008 and stayed on until 2015. Among her mandates, she was Chairperson of the Membership Committee. The mission of this taskforce was to examine the question of the medium and long-term development of our membership and to question the relevance of our programs and services.
Mrs. Spineti Delle Donne has also chaired the Course Rating and Handicap Committee since 2008 in Québec and from 2014 at Golf Canada. She successfully carried out her duties until the end of 2020 when she actively contributed to the implementation of the new World Handicap System (WHS).
As part of our handicap services, she has been the lead trainer for seminars enabling member golf facilities to have a certified Handicap Committee. She also provided training for course raters and managed their activities. Reviewing all the data collected by the teams before sharing it with the visited clubs, she allowed us to ensure the quality and consistency of our course rating services.
We are eternally grateful for her volunteer commitment in sharing her passion for golf with our entire community.
