2nd Golf Summit: “Dare to Change”

December 11 and 12, 2018
Domaine Château-Bromont

Montréal, October 30, 2018 – All the provincial golf associations and golf club managers will get together for a 2-day convention in December of 2018 as they will participate in the Québec Golf Summit. The Industry Standing Committee is proud to announce the programming of the second edition of this event to be held at Domaine Château-Bromont on December 11 and 12, 2018.

Dare to Change

For the purpose of facilitating discussions on the industry’s management, golfers’ experience, and marketing of the game of golf that will lead to broaden our business horizons, workshops and conferences will be presented under the theme “Dare to Change”.

The opening conference will bring Gregg Patterson back to address the topic of “change”. With his “Tribal Magic” presentation, Mr. Patterson had created quite a buzz amongst participants of the 2015 Summit. Eight other guest speakers accepted our invitation for this upcoming two-day convention. They include experts such as Jeff Calderwood, CEO of the NGCOA Canada, Martin Lespérance and Carol Allain, two international keynote speakers, Dany Dubé, well-known sports commentator, as well as Benoit Girardin, strategic planning expert in the sports and tourist industries. The presentation made by Gregg Patterson and Jeff Calderwood will be made in English, while other activities are conducted in French (simultaneous interpretation will not be provided).

At the end of the first day of the Summit, a gala dinner animated by Michel Lacroix will provide the opportunity to celebrate special contributors of the industry and recognize their exceptional achievements of the year in link with the theme “Dare to Change”. Some will be honoured for their administrative or organizational efficiency while others were nominated for their innovative golf course management, junior programs or golf marketing approaches.

Closing the Summit, an industry quiz and round table on how to market golf in Québec will be led by Jean-Michel Anctil, a true golf enthusiast.

Throughout the Summit, Jean-Sébastien Légaré will ensure the transition from one presentation to another. He is a golf analyst, television host in the Au 19e show aired on RDS, and Head Professional of the Atlantide golf club.

An important milestone for the industry

This event is the logical continuation of the first Golf Summit held in 2015 and in which the results of a field survey conducted in the summer of 2013 on the active and inactive markets’ potential were analyzed and built on. Since then, the Get Out, Play Golf campaign created a major buzz in the industry to promote golf participation towards recreational players.

The 2018 Golf Summit will provide the industry stakeholders with the opportunity to reflect on their current position and identify new avenues that could lead to expand the pool of golfers even more, building on the participation increase of the past 4 or 5 golf seasons.

Many corporate partners are already committed to the success of this event. They include: Mobilicab, Ovation médias, Mulligan international, GGGolf, and many others.
