Jocelyne Bourassa, Inducted in Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame
Golf Québec is proud of Jocelyne Bourassa who was inducted in Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Living legend of women’s golf in Canada, she was honoured on October 21, in Toronto, where the whole sports community had gathered to celebrate her contribution as well as 10 other inductees, including Québec athletes Nicolas Gill, Jennifer Heil, and Danielle Goyette. Golf’s Governing Bodies Announce Rules of Golf Revisions for 2016
 
As golf’s governing body in Canada, Golf Canada, in conjunction with the R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA), announce the new revisions to the Rules of Golf for 2016. In accordance with the Joint Rules Committee’s four-year review cycle of the Rules of Golf, the new changes will come into effect on January 1, 2016. Read more...

Golf Québec and NIVO are proud of their two-year partnership in which NIVO acts as Title Partner of the Women’s Provincial Tour but also as a supporter of the “From School to the Golf Club” fundraising initiative. Read more... 
 
From School to the Golf Club 2015 fundraiser: The NIVO line of women’s golf attire, which has been affiliated to our Women’s Provincial Tour for many seasons, will remit 15% of the sales made in the NIVO online boutique by members of Golf Québec and its readership.

Scholarships | Bourses d’études jeunes athlètes
Le Journal de Montréal, Le Journal de Québec, and RBC are proud to launch the 10th edition of the scholarship program "Bourses d’études jeunes athlètes" presented in collaboration with the Fonds d’investissement et de développement athlétique (FIDA), Boutique Courir, Sports Québec, and TVA Sports. Design to support excellence amongst our young Québec athletes, this prestigious program offers three scholarships of $2,500, $5,000, and $10,000 to those who stand out of the crowd in their sports and academic performances. A New Sports-études Program in Québec City
The Rouge et Or golf team of Université Laval, in Québec City, is working hard to implement a new program in collaboration with two local high schools. Benoit Lemieux Honored by the Québec PGA
Congratulations to Benoit Lemieux who was honored at the recent Méritas gala presented by the Québec PGA. He was awarded with the prize for best "Teaching Coach of the Year, Elite Context". Click here for more information on this prize and other recipients...

Our Regional Associations and Volunteers

Montréal | New Rewards for Amateur Players
"This new idea will be implemented in 2016. Our objective is to reward those who play in our competitions throughout the golf season. These additional gift certificates will be granted based on the number of participants and number of events in which they played." Québec City | Go Les Filles Invites You to the TIME IT WAS Benefit Show
GO Les Filles invites you to a benefit show called TIME IT WAS, an homage to Cat Steven and Simon & Garfunkel. This private show will take place on Sunday, November 15, at 7:30 pm, at the Centre d’art La Chapelle. It is a small intimate venue of less than 200 spectators for those of you who appreciate this kind of vintage music. Individual tickets are $40 and parts of the proceeds will contribute to supporting the development of women's golf in the Québec City region.

Québec City | Welcome to a New President: Denise Mazerolle
Former Vice-President of the Québec City Regional Assocation, Denise Mazerolle was recently appointed to replace Jacques Bédard as the new regional President. Her committee is comprised of: Germain Pépin, Vice-President, Nathalie Bernier, Secretary, and Marielle Rodrigue, Treasurer.
 
Other regional committees will be led by:
Johanne Gingras, women's amateur and senior tournaments; Pierre Fleury, men's amateur and senior tournaments; Claude Mailloux, junior development and tournaments; Éric Fortin, inter-sectional matches; Édouard Rivard, rules; Germain Pépin, sponsorships; Jean-Pierre Hardy, website and BlueGolf manager; André Gagné, special consultant.

Ottawa | Talented Juniors
At the Rivermead Golf Club, Laurier Perrault (left) made a hole-in-one on September 6. He used his 8-iron to play the 101 yards of hole #16 on the red course. His fellow junior member, Vincent Prud'homme (right), also celebrated this kind of accomplishment on August 27 when he faced the 178 yards of the white course second hole with his 4-iron. Étienne Papineau Closes the Season With Another Victory
Étienne Papineau won the PING CCAA Golf National Championship held from October 14 to 16 at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club. He is also one of the 2015 CCAA Men's golf All-Canadians. At the beginning of November, he will sign up for a full scholarship with the Mountaineers of West Virginia, a golf team of the NCAA division 1, and will become the first Québec player to ever earn such a scholarship. The Kent State Women's Golf Team Concludes Fall With Third-Straight Win
For the second time in program history, No. 8 Kent State women's golf has won its third consecutive tournament title.  The Golden Flashes, in which Josée Doyon is playing, wrapped up the win by shooting 4-under on Tuesday to win the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational by eight strokes. Read more... Symetra Tour Championship
The Symetra Tour Championship Presented by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from October 15 to 18 marked the end of this year's activities. Québec players, Maude-Aimée LeBlanc and Anne-Catherine Tanguay respectively tied for 5th and 14th.
