The Rules of Golf According to Édouard | Preferred Lies
In golf, Rule 13-1 is the most fundamental rule: the ball must be played as it lies... This is often refered to as Summer Rules. But depending on the quality of some courses, the tournament committee may decide to grant relief by temporary Local Rule and allow "Preferred Lies". Read more in Édouard's blog on the Rules of Golf on Golf Martial Lapointe (in French)...

To contact our Rules of Golf Chairman, please send an e-mail to erivard@golfquebec.org.

As a result, they will contribute to supporting youth programs and initiatives through the Golf Québec Sport Development Program. Read more...

CN Future Links and Golfmobile in Drummondville
As part of the Community Tour, CN Future Links and the Golfmobile participated in the 200th anniversary celebration of the city of Drummondville. We were very impressed to see a total of 1,530 visitors during the weekend of June 27 and 28.

Au 19e Features the Women's Golf Program
You have missed the Au 19e show aired on RDS? Don't worry! You can still see it online as Daniel Caza of Ovation Médias presents the Women's Golf Program, a Golf Québec  initiative presented at the recent women's clinic held at Golf Le Mirage. (Video clip in French.)

Our Regional Associations and Volunteers

Meet our Course Raters | Pierre-André Neault

As part of our interviews with some of our volunteers who are very active in the delivery of our services, this week we are introducing to you Pierre-André Neault, Course Rater in the Mauricie area. Enjoy reading!

Eastern Townships | A First Elementary Micro-Tour
On June 15, an ICT event was held at Cowansville and presented as the "Elementary School Golf Micro-Tour". Golf teams representing four local schools, St-Léon, Curé-A.-Petit, Ste-Thérèse and Heroe's Memorial, took part in this NCAA-style competition. The host club generously distributed green fees to young participants and their parents. Phys. Ed. teachers, school principals, parents, and members enjoyed a great Golf in School celebration. This was a huge success!

Who's up for the challenge? This event was the continuation of a dozen clinics given on volunteer basis by Pierre Dugas and Maxime Paiement as part of the "From School to the Golf Club" program. What a great initiative! How nice would it be to see it everywhere in the province!

Montréal | Le Parcours du Cerf, Proud Partner of the Federation
Le Parcours du Cerf, as you can see on their dynamic website, is very committed to the Federation and golf industry at large. As a matter of fact, their General Manager, Bernard Vaillancourt, is also the Chairman of the Industry Standing Committee which is actively involved in revitalizing our industry and promoting the game of golf. We would like to invite all our member-clubs to follow this great communication example.

My Story | Francis Rouillier
"My grand-father is my coach. He is a true force of nature and, at 84 years old, he just bought new golf clubs. In his mind, there is no age limit to improving your game and I find this philosophy of life absolutely admirable."
