Montréal | Ronald Bégin Honoured by Civitas
Ronald Bégin, the Superintendant of Le Blainvillier, was honoured by Civitas for his work and major discovery on grass protection and reduction in water consumption. As his course is not connected to city services and local wells only supply a high saline content that cannot be used, he probably is the only one in Québec to water his fairways and greens with collected rainwater. Always looking for new technics to save water, he noticed that using Civitas prevented grass transpiration. This way, water stays in the plant and evaporates more slowly. Ingenious!
