Égale Action announces the finalists of the 2014 edition
Partners, collaborators, and members of Égale Action outdid themselves this year by submitting candidacies for the 10th edition of the Gala Femmes d’influence en sport et activité physique in Québec. An incredible group of 38 amazing women are in nomination for their contribution in sports and physical education in 2014. On May 6, Sheraton Laval will be host to the Gala where all finalists will be honoured and some will be crowned. We are proud of our volunteers, Diane Dunlop-Hébert and Diane Barabé, who are amongst the nominees! Read more (in French)...

The First Issue of Élan is Now Available!
We are very proud to introduce to you the first issu of Élan, the official magazine of Golf Québec, for 2015. You will find it integrated in your Golf AGP International magazine, you can read it on your smart phone as a mobile app and it is on our website in French, in "flip-page" format or in English as a PDF file. Stay updated on the activities of our sport federation and industry acommplishments. Enjoy reading!

Should You Remove Sand or Not Before Playing?
Rule 13-2 is fairly unknown to golfers. Did you know that you can remove sand around your ball or on your line of putt only if you are on the putting green? Your ball does not have to lie on the green to do so. Find out more in Édouard's blog on the Rules of Golf,  part 1 and part 2, on Golf Martial Lapointe (in French)...

To contact our Rules of Golf Chairman, please send an e-mail to erivard@golfquebec.org.

Early Bird Renewal Offer for Public Golfers
As a current member of Golf Canada/Golf Québec, you will notice that the Public Player category has become the Gold Level Membership with enhanced benefits. Golf Canada/Golf Québec would like to offer you an early bird gift for renewing your 365-day membership before March 31. Motivate Junior Competitors to Surpass Themselves

On March 22, sport psychology specialist, Jean-François Ménard, addressed our juniors, their parents and coaches. This initiative is the first of our new Conference Program. Altogether, 73 participants gathered valuable information on how to "Motivate Junior Competitors to Surpass Themselves" and discovered what's new in our 2015 junior structure. Stay tuned: other conferences will be presented throughout the golf season!

Add Value to Ladies Night With Golf Fore the Cure Presented by Subaru

Warmer temperatures are starting to poke their head, which means the golf season is just around the corner. Last year, over 13,000 women combined to raise over $360,000 for breast cancer research through 170 events across Canada. Help us beat those numbers in 2015 by running an event in conjunction with your ladies night. Registration is free – click here. In addition, all sites registered by June 26 will be entered into the grand prize draw to win a Fitbit Flex and Golf Canada Prize Pack!

Golf Fore the Cure is an excellent opportunity to engage women in the game of golf and contribute to a meaningful cause. For more information, contact Whitney Gorges, Golf Fore the Cure Coordinator, Golf Canada, wgorges@golfcanada.ca,  1 800 263-0009 x495 or visit the official website.

What's Good For One Is Good For All of Us
"One day, one of our Québec players will reach the PGA or the LPGA and, just like Eugenie Bouchard is currently doing for the tennis industry, it will be very profitable for the game of golf in Québec. The fact that Eugenie is so successful creates a renewed craze for tennis and I strongly believe that the same phenomenon will occur when one of our players finally reaches one of the highest tours." Read the comments of golf Professional Rémi Bouchard and Patrice Clément, our Sport Development Director on Golf Martial Lapointe (in French)...

Children's Fitness Amount
This year, when you will file your federal tax return, don't forget that you can claim up to a maximum of $1,000 per child the fees paid in 2014 relating to the cost of registration or membership for your or your spouse's or common-law partner's child in a prescribed program of physical activity. Active Season vs Handicap Factor
As many of you are eager to get back on our Québec courses, we are often asked how your handicap factors should be managed in the active and inactive segments of the season. For instance, if you went to Florida for a few weeks in February, should you input your rounds played under the sun or not? Actually, yes, you should! But why? Simply because the season is active in Florida, in February. Which means that you enjoyed playing conditions that were quite comparable to what you will find, here in Québec, in the month of July. So, don't forget: the active season depends on the region where you play and the normal seasonal conditions of the area where you travel. Where you actually live doesn't always have an impact on your game. Have fun playing golf!

Send Us Your Pictures Featuring the Golf Québec Colors
Oblivious of the cold Québec winter, Lory Paradis, Sarah-Eve Rhéaume, Victoria Routhier and Audrey Paradis exiled themselves under the hot Florida sun to enjoy their passion and a tournament! View their picture on our Facebook page. And you? Do you have a golf trip planned in the near future? Share your best photos featuring the Golf Québec colors with us. Send them to: rguillemette@golfquebec.org ‪#‎GolfQuébec‬.

The Sun Coast Tour Dominated by Canadian Golfers
