Golf Québec Looks at 2015 with Renewed Dynamism in Its Board of Directors
At its 94th Annual General Meeting held on February 18, Golf Québec announced the nomination of its new Board of Director led by Marcel Paul Raymond as President for a second year.

“The strength of our Board of Directors lies not only in the competencies of our stakeholders, but also in the steadiness of our Directors,” explained Jean-Pierre Beaulieu, Executive Director. As a matter of fact, many of them who are either members of our member-clubs or representatives of the Québec PGA or ATGQ will pursue their mandates with our Federation. Read more...

Full Relief
When taking relief, one should do it fully, completely. Before a competition, rules officials will visit the course. If abnormal grounds conditions are noticed, white paint will be used to mark the area. This means that, should the ball lie in such area, specific conditions could impair the player's stance or impact on the space required to complete a proper swing.

To read more about such interference and how to take relief, read the blog of our Rules Committee Chairman, Édouard Rivard, on Golf Martial Lapointe...

Sport Development

She Swings, She Scores to Introduce Sport Teams to Golf
This year, Golf Québec is launching a new introduction program aiming to bring golf in the regular environment of girls who already play in organized team sports. At the beginning of February, the Saguenay/Lac St-Jean/Chibougamau Regional Association conducted a “She Swings, She Scores” workshop in a recent provincial basketball tournament. Teenage girls composing a dozen teams had the opportunity to discover golf and hit some ball in our brand new “boom room” which was setup indoors, at Cégep de Chicoutimi. In the local basketball team, most of the girls had never played golf before. Following this amusing introduction activity, many decided to sign up for the free development program conducted by Jonathan Moreau. What a great success!
