Milby Presented With the 2014 Pierre-Nadon Prize
Historically, the Pierre-Nadon Prize was always presented to a person who contributed in an exceptional way to the development and promotion of golf in Québec. This year, Milby is writing a new page of history by becoming the first club or organization to ever receive this Prize as they have shown impressive courtesy and generosity by hosting tournament over tournament. Rules of Golf Seminars
From April 24 to April 26, 2015, level 3 and 4 seminars will be given at the Elm Ridge Golf Club. We strongly encourage all captains, professionals and General Managers to attend one of these very interesting seminars. You will all gain a lot of knowledge on the rules of golf. Registration fees of $149.47 include: learning material, decisions book, rules book, continental breakfast, and lunch for the 3 days). The exam is not mandatory. The seminars will be given in French, English or might even be bilingual depending on the number of participants. In addition, a seminar might be given in Québec City if enough participants register.
Level 1 and level 2 must be completed online before attending a level 3 seminar.

Handicap Seminars
Here is the list of handicap seminars that were confirmed up to now and for which you can already register. The purpose of these training sessions is to make sure that qualified individuals are identified in all golf clubs to form local Handicap Committees who will answer your questions properly and enable you to get a valid handicap factor.

Québec City - May 2 from 9 am to noon at Cap-Rouge
Eastern Townships - May 20 from 5 to 10 pm at  Domaine Château-Bromont 
Ottawa - May 26 from 5 to 10 pm at Camelot

Sport Development

Indoors Training Centre
Pierre-Luc Bergeron, our Regional Coach for the Québec City area never stops! His company, b2golf, acquired the largest indoors training facilities, Golf Évolution, in the fall. This centre was designed to look like a golf club where avid players get together to learn new skills, practice, and share ideas in a friendly environement. All aspects of the golf game are covered.

Gala Femmes d’influence

It is now time to submit candidacies for the 10th edition of the Gala Femmes d’influence in sport and physical activity in Québec. Nominations will be accepted until February 20, 2015, at noon. Québec City: Golf Martial Lapointe, New and Improved
Less than 10 months after it's creation, Golf Martial Lapointe is already expending and becomes golf-martial-lapointe.com. Since January 12, 2015, this French blog moved to an informative website covering golf in Québec City and in the province. This platform change is far from a change of vocation. They are still aiming to share golf news with our community. New collaborators will join the bloggers' team. They include well-known radio announcer, Ray Cloutier, as well as Édouard Rivard, Chairman of the Golf Québec Rules Committee, who will write an editorial on the rules governing the magnificient game of golf. Register today to this new French golf news media, it's free!

Eastern Townships: Club de golf LongChamp Hires Prominent Staff
The new CEO of club de golf LongChamp, Marc Viens, recently secured services of Claire Turcotte as Director of the food, beverage and banquet department for the next three years. As well, renowned golf professional, André Maltais, will take the lead of the Golf Academy and provide assistance at the proshop.

Lower St. Lawrence: Job Offer at Club de golf Matane

Montréal - The Beaulne Family Acquires Le Champêtre
Sylvain and Jean-Sébastien Beaulne are proud to announce that they bought Club de golf Le Champêtre. Their objective is to maintain respect for golf traditions as implemented by Jacques Rousseau, his associates and staff. "For me, tradition is very important in the game of golf. I also believe that our members should have a strong sense of community and enjoy some healthy competition. The transition should run smoothly as we share the same values as the previous team", explains Sylvain Beaulne. Canada well represented on Global Golf Post’s All-Amateur Teams

Global Golf Post has selected its second annual All-Amateur Team and Canada was well represented in the 2014 picks. The selections identify amateurs, from across the world, who have played exceptional golf over the last calendar year. In 2014, the selection committee chose 211 golfers from 23 different countries.
 
Congratulations to Hélène Chartrand who was named to the 1st Team in the Women’s Senior Amateur category. The Pincourt resident was victorious at the Canadian Senior Women’s Amateur just one month after capturing the Mid-Master title at the 2014 Canadian Women’s Amateur. Chartrand was also able to advance to the Rd. of 32 at the US Senior Women’s Amateur.
